The Good Wife is a drama centers on a wife and mother, who boldly re-enters the workforce after her husband's very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. In Season 2, her husband, Peter, is back home and planning to run for office again with help from Eli Gold, his cunning image consultant, Alicia continues to redefine herself and her role in her family's life.
As with most good series, Wife has expanded its reach to envelop all of its well-acted main characters, a growing stable that now includes Alan Cumming's Eli Gold (a great addition).
The Good Wife is so layered with previous-episode details that are never forgotten that it already has its own sort of mythology, rare for a non-sci-fi show.
The Season 2 premier is so fully packed, in any case, that we hardly get much time to catch up with Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), one of the best parts of the show. Let's assume that situation will be remedied in weeks to come.
