George was born in London, England, and moved to the United States with his mother, father, and brother when he was five years old. His family is from Cyprus, and George has visited the island on many occasions. One of his fondest memories of Cyprus was attending the Kourion, an ancient outdoor cinema. Unfortunately, his next visit to the island unfolded like a real-life Greek tragedy... Cyprus was invaded by the Turkish military. George and his family went into hiding, but managed to escape to a British base, where they spent two weeks sleeping in tents before the British military flew them back to London.
