Andrew Davies was born on September 20, 1936 in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, Wales. He is a writer and producer, known for Bridget Jones's Diary (2001), House of Cards (2013) and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004). He has been married to Diana Huntley since 1960. They have two children.
