A high school senior branded uncool in the ninth grade gets himself expelled so he changes his image to cool kid at the town's other high school. There he sets out to destroy the popularity-obsessed social system, boost school morale and win the heart of a girl.
This is a truly awful movie, made from one of the worst scripts in memory. The New Guy has been on the shelf for more than a year, and it's clear the reason for the long wait wasn't perfectionism. More likely, it was embarrassment.

Maybe the only thing revelatory about The New Guy is how redemptive a good heart can be to even the most derivative film. Be prepared to smile.
