Two words..... Denny Crane!Last Name: Crane First Name: DennyDenny Crane is the greatest attorney living today. He is the lead named founding partner of Crane, Poole & Schmidt. Although his skills as a brilliant litigator and his reputation as an unparalled rainmaker are not what they once were due to aging and his struggle with senility, he still holds a 6,043-0 record having never lost a case that he first chaired. He often runs into trouble with the other founding and senior partners who see him as an aging buffoon that, although once great, is past his prime and an embarrassment to the firm. He is unfazed by their criticism. He understands full well that he is growing old and not the phenom he used to be. But he knows that the name partners can not and will not get rid of him without losing many of the firm's top clients or falling out of favor with politicans and celebs who love and revere him. The firm also would risk losing many of their top lawyers including co-founding partner Shirley Schmidt who, although she has threatened to fire him to keep him in line, consistently stands up for him and has his back. There is also his best friend and colleague, Alan Shore, who is the firm's newest rainmaker. Paul Lewiston, a friend and colleague who has wanted to fire Denny, fearing that he needs to leave gracefully for his own good or suffer public disgrace to himself and the firm has said, There's not much we can do. His name IS still first on the letterhead. He is a staunch republican and galvanzing patriot who, despite being blindly conservative, understands that part of what it means to be American is that everyone is entitled to their views and beliefs. Also, he feels that a man's character can not be judged by politics. This is evident in his friendship with Alan Shore, not to mention his ties to Rev. Al Sharpton and Larry King. An instance in which the son of victim threatens Denny's life, shows that Denny is actually more liberal and progressive than he cares to admit or others realize. The case history reveals the client in question was a homosexual who would not admit to his homosexuality in open court for fear of being outcast. Denny's own father warned Denny not to go against him and that they were to do the least possible to represent him because he was undoubtedly guilty. Denny remained convinced of the man's innocence and hired a look-a-like to appear on the stand and tricked the plantiff into indentifying the wrong man in open court. After this his father lost all faith in Denny and disowned him. Denny's victory in this particular case not only proves that eyewitness testimony always leaves room for reasonable doubt. It also illustrates Denny's beliefs in the American idea that the customer is always right and that a lawyer has a duty to put his personal views aside and do his best to represent his client within the confides of the law. He also shows his commitment to being an American when the Republican party approaches him to run for president, but criticizes his opposing the death penalty, his known history sleeping with prostitutes and his friendship to outspoken rable-rousing Democrat Alan Shore. He responds to these criticisms by stating that the he is for the death penalty, but his job as a hired gun dictated him to appear against it for the client and his personal views can't stand in the way of his job. Also, he likes sex and thinks that it is better to be linked to prostitutes than to be a moralistic sexually repressed crusading hypocrite who cruises airport mens rooms late at night and while he disagrees wth Shore's views he does not question his character and will not throw him under the bus to be President . In short, Denny Crane is a patriot of the best kind, a conservative whom liberals love and an American that firmly believes in his country rather than just the government. He is an unparalled innovator in his field, a longstanding rainmaker and a national icon.Fun Facts:Is Cuckoo for Cocoa PuffsOnce Captained his own spaceshipEnjoys a cigar and a glass of scotch with his best friend Alan Shore every night on his office balconyIs a favorite guest on Larry King LiveThough he has been married and divorced nine times he has never had kids of his own he however is a father figure to Donny Crane who grew up thinking that Denny was his biological fatherHas an EmmyIs an ex-Marine sniper or pilot ( he can't remember which)
