Stephanie Edmonds was born on Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico as the only child of engineer father, Walter Edmonds, and dental assistant mother, Michelle Edmonds. When she was still very young, her father retired from the Air Force, and the family set off for Dallas, Texas. At the age of twelve, she achieved gifted standing in the AIM ("Activating Inquisitive Minds") and Phoenix programs for gifted and talented students as the result of earning high scores on an IQ test. After pursuing an Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate curriculum, Edmonds graduated with honors - earning a degree of distinction and placement on the United States President's Honor Roll.Discovered by an agent while competing at the National Cheerleaders Association All-Star Nationals in Dallas at the age of 14, she quickly found herself establishing a career as, both, an actress and a model. While studying Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, Edmonds continued to actively pursue her career in the fashion industry, modeling the fashions of such designers as Betsey Johnson, Burberry, Nicole Miller, Hugo Boss, Vera Wang and Roberto Cavalli. In 2007, Edmonds relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career in a more promising market.Throughout her career, she has opted to take on conflicted characters dealing with sensitive and controversial issues of social importance. These include an honest portrayal of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder as the result of rape, an exploration of conventional society's oppressive condemnation of individuals engaging in same sex relationships, as well as a portrayal of substance abuse and self-inflicted harm.
