Richard Socarides is a political commentator, gay-rights advocate, and communications and marketing executive. He is also a writer and regular contributor to the New Yorker and a frequent commentator on CNN and MSNBC. Socarides is the brother of Charles Socarides, who will portray him in the upcoming ABC mini-series When We Rise (2017).
