Melanie Case is from Menlo Park, California. She was raised in a bilingual household with her older sister Stephanie, and is Colombian-American. Her mother is from Colombia.Melanie attended Menlo-Atherton high school and founded the Lunátic Players improv troupe. As a teenager, Melanie sought out and began taking acting classes at A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory in San Francisco. Melanie attended UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Televsion and performed in Paris with expressionistic theater director René Migliaccio, founder of the Black Moon Theater Company. Her Junior Year, she interned at The Actors' Gang and studied in their commedia dell'arte-based workshops. She also studied acting under Nancy Berwid, creator of the First Take Method.After graduating from UCLA she co-produced, wrote and starred in a two-woman show called "The Sho Show." Melanie is also a stand-up and sketch comedian, writer, theater director, filmmaker, interactive producer, and teacher. An alumni of SF sketch comedy group Killing My Lobster, Melanie originated the role of Pam in the award-winning world premiere production of the play "Hunter Gatherers," by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb. She also originated the role of Mary O'Malley and her sock puppet Calcetina Turner in the wildly popular play "Learn to be Latina" by Enrique Urueta.She is a published playwright with her play "Seventh Grade Freaks" and continues to write and make films.
