Luke started working at Australia Zoo in January 2007 after a short time of volunteering with our animal departments. After finishing high school he joined our Koala and Roving departments, where he worked with a huge variety of animals, but quickly fell in love with one group in particular, the mammals. So, when a spot in the Elephant team became available, Luke jumped at the chance to work with the Zoo's largest residents. Luke ran the elephant department for a number of years before changing roles within the zoo. In 2014 Luke became an Executive Assistant and began managing Australia Zoo's Crikey Magazine, where he gets to share Australia Zoo's world of conservation.In 2017, Luke became an integral part of Australia Zoo Productions, managing filming projects for Australia Zoo and the Irwin family.
