Jessica Darrow was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Her mother, Sonia Egea, is Cuban and is a retired Publix Supermarkets cashier. Her father, Mark, is of mixed European ethnicity and is a retired Miami-Dade (County) Police Officer. Jessica exhibited acting ability as early as the 5th grade, appearing on her elementary school's closed-circuit television morning show. Her abilities were later honed and developed at the Visual & Performing Arts Program at Southwood Middle School, and also at the Miami Children's Theatre, where she appeared in multiple productions. During the summers of 2011 and 2012, Jessica attended Frenchwoods Festival of the Performing Arts in Hancock, NY. Jessica's professional development was further enhanced in January of 2013 as she was named as a National Finalist in spoken and musical theatre by the National YoungArts Foundation. At YoungArts, she and her fellow finalists, including actors Timothee Chalamet and Justice Smith, received mentoring in classes conducted by Marisa Tomei, and Andrew Rannells, among others. In June of 2013, Jessica graduated from the Visual & Performing Arts Academy at Coral Reef Senior High School. Between September of 2015 and February of 2016, Jessica studied theatre in London, England, under the auspices of Global Education at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. In January of 2017, Jessica received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting (cum laude) from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, at Rutgers University.
