Jerry Hayes is best known for his work as part of a rotating cast of players on the Michigan based anthology TV series Lee Martins The Midnight Hour. Jerry began acting & studying the art of acting at the age of 11. Making his stage debut, with fellow actor Don Couture {Lee Martins The Midnight Hour/Mary Buttons}. Acting in numerous plays including- Tell-Tale Heart, Arsenic & Old Lace & Heaven Can Wait. By the age of 14, he made his directorial debut. Both acting & directing at the same time in Michael Gazzo's "A Hatful Of Rain".After years of studying acting with numerous coaches & reading extensively to explore & put into practice many tools when needed. Jerry became absorbed in the works of Stanislavsky & his pupils. Also well as the discoveries of the great American acting teachers. Always keeping his method open to whatever is needed to produce -truthful, real & believable human truth in the imaginary given circumstances. After studying acting with Emmy award -winning director Ann-Marie McHugh, and going to an audition with famed German actor Jürgen Prochnow. Prochnow expressed his belief in Jerry's talent & encouraged Jerry to go to L.A to pursue a career as a film actor.Then just prior Hayes met a famous actor Robert Wagner {Hart to Hart/It takes a Thief}- who had known & worked with one of Jerry's favorite actors from the early days of film- Spencer Tracy. After being given heart-felt advice passed down from Spencer Tracy. Jerry then decided it was time to move to L.A to pursue his love for film acting. He began studying at Jeff Goldblum & Robert Carnegies PLAYHOUSE WEST. Carnagie had great belief in Jerrys passion for acting. As he studied with Tony Savant & Holly Gagnier . He soon met a longtime close friend & actor- Timothy Gibbs{I/NATION/One Life To Live/Another World }. Both became instant friends that shared a mutual respect for the craft of truthful, believable acting. At the urging of Gibbs -Hayes acted & directed his own short films.To help him forward marketing his film career. Soon after Jerry's journey would come to a halt. Jerry had a life altering illness of later stage lymes disease, then later a stroke, that would take him away from his career.Yet 13 years later, Hayes was recovering miraculously from that stroke. Finally, from the urging of his dear long time friend Gibbs .Then also by his childhood acting partner Couture. Hayes returned where he left off just beginning a film acting career . In December 2012 he began his comeback & soon was cast in the upcoming feature film. Then TV writer/director Lee Martin discovered Jerry's work & cast him in 2013 in multiple episodes of Lee Martins IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. And Jerry became part of the rotating cast of players. Very proud of his collaborations with Lee Martin on The Midnight Hour 2013-14. Along with, this talented core cast of rotating players & crew.Cast in many film/TV projects in 2013-14. One was a moving film on the homeless The Invisible & another a gangster feature lower budget film Jerry loved playing Bronson the hit-man in this film called Getting Out. Written by Nick Felice. He has done numerous short films & enjoys creating with young talented passionate directors as well as those more seasoned. Both acting/directing together at times, when the vision screams at him he must. Then Jerry was cast in the film THE 10th & was asked to direct also. The vision compelled him & Jerry accepted. Ending the comeback year back home with Lee Martin,cast & crew on The Midnight Hour.Along with his respect for the art acting, the audience, his peers and himself. He always gives his best as a professional, focused, skilled, passionate, truthful & realistic actor. Enriching others' lives as well as his own. Jerry is back to the art he loves. Once again creating & sharing. Feeling very centered & expressed finally arriving back home to the art he has loved since childhood. Show less «
