Ian Matthew Roland Hoch (born December 17, 1983) is an American actor from New Orleans, Louisiana, known for roles on HBO's post-Katrina drama "Treme" and well as turns in "Hours" starring Paul Walker and "22 Jump Street" alongside Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. On stage, Ian is a three-time Big Easy Award nominee, with nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy in "Lysistrata," Best Actor in a Drama for "Bug," and winner of Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for "Balm in Gilead."Ian starred in the first movie he was ever in at the age of 12, a low-fi historical retelling of the founding of his hometown of Durango, Colorado. He found a natural home in his high school drama program, perhaps most fondly remembered as the dentist in "Little Shop of Horrors" and Fagin in "Oliver."Studying at Loyola University, Ian made his New Orleans debut starring in John Guare's Civil War tale "Women and Water," and continued his studies eventually receiving a dual degree in drama and broadcast production. It was during these formative years that he discovered improv comedy, which left a serious impression and jump-started his journey into film acting. He is a member of the Cripple Creek Theater Company and Goat in the Road Productions, two of New Orleans' most revered theater organizations, producing dramatic works of cultural, historical, and political relevance.
