Born in New Jersey, with a BA from Manhattan's School of Visual Arts, multiple award-winning film, television, content, commercial, documentary, and music video director, producer, screenwriter, editor, music producer, music supervisor, former film development exec, Madison Ave creative director, and partner of Desert C.A.M. Studios, a top production and post-production facility in the LA area. Miller is also a recording artist with the alt rock band, Old Sand Mill. He studied briefly with Norman Rockwell and had an original painting on display at the Smithsonian Institute's Aerospace Division for 15 years. He moved to Hollywood in the early 80's. With a full development and production slate of high profile feature films, TV programs, TV concert specials, and a live action drama content series for 2020-2021, key projects include: "Zhohi Shoon-Kah," a 9-part action series with Dana Lustig set to direct the pilot, created and scripted by Miller from a story idea by he and award-winning Native American singer/songwriter pop star, Jana Mashone; "Nobody Wrote It Down: True Tales of the Black Cowboys", a cable/content live action period drama series with Desert Star Film & TV and producer Allen Plone. Miller and Plone created the series and scripted the 2-hour pilot to be directed by Nick Casavettes and hosted by Grammy-winning recording artist, Dom Flemons, whose hit 2019 award-winning album, "Black Cowboys" serves as inspiration for the first season. "Paths", a family/faith-based movie to star Kevin Sorbo, Rebecca Holden, Sally Kirkland, and Ian Grey; "Harlem: The Series", based on the best-selling Double Day novel by the late Len Riley, previously in development with Motown icon, Suzanne DePasse; and a unique true story about Elvis Presley co-written with producer Harley Hatcher. In addition, Miller co-wrote an original western with actor Liam Neeson that was previously in development with Clint Eastwood's Malpaso Films and the late Penny Marshall's Parkway Films, and is now being developed by Desert C.A.M. Studios; "The Great Silence of Harry Gleeson," a true biopic on Ireland's first posthumous pardon - a man hanged for murder 75 years ago, finally exonerated two years ago; "The Marriage Zone" in development with writer/producer Mike Marvin, as a pilot for a sci-fi comedy series with the pilot to be helmed by Miller. And "Loudmouth: The Odyssey of Morton Downey, Jr.," a 2-part content biopic originally developed at Fox TV Pictures/FX Channel, and scripted by Miller. In partnership with Desert Star Film & TV, Miller is developing a limited cable series on the story of The Kingston Trio, the 3rd best-selling artists in Capitol Records history, along with The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, and The Beatles. Miller has directed four TV concert PBS specials with The Kingston Trio, a documentary, numerous music videos, and captured the historic last performance of Bob Shane, the Trio's founder. Shane died the same day as Kobe Bryant. In addition, Miller is also Executive Producing a 10-part documentary series on the unwritten history of black pioneers to be produced by Transform Films. Chip has directed 40 plus national commercials for such clients as: CBS TV; Paramount Pictures; Filmways Pictures; Toyota; Kellogg's Corp; Kodak; Marriott Hotel Corp; Pepsi Corp w/Eddie Murphy; Bob's Big Boy w/Mike Myers; KIMN Radio w/Rodney Dangerfield; Jergen's Lotion w/Lindsay Wagner; Jamaican Tourism; Tourism Ireland; Wrangler Jeans; Pizza Hut; IBM Corp; Levi's Cords w/Steve Martin; MTV; Ford Motors; Progresso; Canada Dry; American Dairy Association; Becton Dickinson, and Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical. In addition, Miller has directed and produced 165 music videos working with major recording artists. As a film exec, Miller developed such projects as "Fire In The Sky," w/James Garner, DB Sweeney, Robert Patrick, Peter Berg, & Henry Thomas; "Square Dance," w/Jane Alexander, Jason Robards, Rob Lowe & Wynona Ryder; "Flashpoint" w/Kris Kristofferson, Rip Torn, Treat Williams & Tess Harper; and "A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon," w/River Phoenix, Ann Magnuson, Ione Skye & Matthew Perry. Miller's awards include: a Clio, two CMT Music Awards, three MTV2 Music Video Awards, an MTV Australia Music Video Award, four MTV Europe Music Video Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, Houston Film Festival Award, three National Accolade Awards, two Aegis Awards, two Danae Literary Awards, and a dozen awards as an illustrator and designer.
