Bennett Dunn is an actor, musician, singer, and composer. He also enjoys photography, graphic design, and carpentry.Bennett was born in Georgia and raised in Florida and Delaware. He had an early interest in music and started with the piano, then percussion and guitar. He also enjoys playing the violin and Highland bagpipes. In middle school he started singing lessons, and in high school he acted in stage shows. It was also during his high school years that he started dance classes. In his senior year of high school, the Delaware Music Educator Association named him Musician of the Year. He has also received several other awards, including becoming an Eagle Scout. After high school, he was one of fourteen students admitted to Carnegie Mellon University's (CMU) Department of Theatre. Following his years at CMU, he was invited to join the Walnut Street Theatre (WST) Acting Apprenticeship Program and awarded the Dorothy Haas Acting Fellowship and was nominated for the Princess Grace Award. He appeared in several of WST's main stage productions and became Company Manager and Music Director of their Outreach Program. He also music directed Secret Garden at the Annenberg Summer School Program.Bennett has performed in Regional Theater on the East and West Coasts. Some of his favorite theater credits include "The Music Man" (Harold Hill), "Brigadoon" (Harry Beaton), "The Secret Garden" (Dickon), Big River (Huck), "The Irish and How They Got That Way" (Lead/Guitar/Bodhrán), and The Buddy Holly Story (Buddy) - which also included a 12-month North American Tour.After the tour, Bennett relocated to Los Angeles and worked in theater, film, television and commercials. He appeared on stage in a new musical, "Sneaux", starring Kristen Bell from Veronica Mars. The cast appeared to be on ice skates - on stage. Movie credits include co-starring roles in the Indie film, "The Reflecting Pool," and "Deserted," an Internet Micro-Series, as well as several other films in supporting rolls. He appeared in the episodic TV shows CSI: Miami and Crossing Jordan. He did a commercial for Mars Candy where he played the violin, and an NFL commercial where he played the bagpipes and wore a kilt. While living in Los Angeles, he composed music and lyrics with Pete Munday, an LA band, and played guitar and keyboard on several of their cds. He also started his own Graphic Design Company. They do photographic retouching, photography, and graphic design on the East and West coasts.In 2008, Bennett returned to Philadelphia and was re-cast as Buddy Holly in the Media Theatre (PA) production. Following Buddy, he returned to The Walnut Street Theatre (PA) for their production of "The Irish and how they got that way." This five person ensemble incorporates singing, dancing, musicianship, and monologues.Bennett is now living in New York City where he continues to work in theater, film, and television. Show less «
